Why it works — COAT ZONE
Coat Zone® Company offers two proprietary, signature innovations—CoilSafe® coating compositions (in the nature of a paint, a clear finish, a clear stain) for various substrates and ThermalBlock™(or ThermalBlock by Coat Zone®) coating compositions designed and engineered to significantly extend the life span of HVAC systems, improving performance while significantly reducing energy consumption, and corrosion. CoilSafe® coating compositions and ThermalBlock™ coating compositions offer considerably greater energy efficiencies, especially when used in combination, as a dual approach.
The Science behind our Success
CoilSafe® coating compositions protects the heat exchanger coils of your HVAC (Heat, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units, prevents corrosion, and restores existing HVAC systems as close as possible to original factory KW/ton ratings. With a minimal capital investment, it delivers rapid ROI within 12-36 months.
CoilSafe® coating compositions is essential for new units, but even more beneficial for your existing equipment. In fact, CoilSafe® coating compositions is the only coating available that can be applied on-site to existing systems.
Inorganic, integral, indestructible
CoilSafe® coating compositions is a fully inorganic Heat, Ventilation and AC coil coating solution. Its glass-like layer repels and rejects the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria, as well as other environmental debris.
CoilSafe® coating compositions adheres to the coil metals via covalent bond at an atomic level, forming part of the metal substrate when properly applied. Thus, when CoilSafe® coating compositions hardens, it ensures the most efficient transfer of heat, restoring your unit to nearly-original factory efficiency, as measured by kilowatts per ton (KW/ton).
Thinnest coating = Maximal benefits
Most traditional Epoxy and Polyurethane HVAC coatings do not improve efficiency due to thickness (4-8 mm). These coatings actually impede heat exchange on the condenser coil, and have zero impact on run time.
Conversely, CoilSafe® coating compositions is 0.2 mils, or 5 microns thick—40x thinner than traditional coil coatings. This very thin film does not hamper airflow, or the heat transfer capability of the coils. Further, it easily wicks into cracks and crevices on the coil, effectively filling the gap between the fin shoulder and copper tubing that is responsible for most of the efficiency loss, which widens with age and wear. This means, unlike organic paints that cling to the surface pattern available, this inorganic HVAC coating never loses adhesion, even in the harshest environment.
ThermalBlock™ coating compositions
ThermalBlock™ coating compositions — a thermal radiant barrier—prevents corrosion by reducing the heat loading of your HVAC units due to solar exposure. ThermalBlock™ coating compositions helps you stop sweating over ever-increasing utility bills, and frequent HVAC repairs and maintenance costs. By reducing your unit’s energy consumption, you’re adding years to its life span. ThermalBlock™ coating compositions makes life easier because it can be applied on-site, to your existing equipment.
The coolest way to reduce thermal load
As you know, two key factors impact your unit’s run time: The first is warm air that returns to the unit from the building—unfortunately, this cannot be prevented. The second factor is high interior temperatures within your HVAC metal cabinet, which can now be effectively controlled with ThermalBlock™ coating compositions.
This is especially important for equipment that is rooftop-mounted, such as rooftop package units, exposed duct work, and rooftop air handlers.
ThermalBlock™ coating compositions has gone through extensive testing by independent laboratories. You can access the test results here.
This equipment is tested and rated in ARI-certified labs, but it is never tested under the actual heat load conditions while roof-mounted. In those real-world conditions, external cabinet temperatures can reach as high as 180°F, even on moderate temperature days with full solar exposure. When properly applied, ThermalBlock™ coating compositions blocks 95% of solar heat, thus reducing the exterior temperature of your unit to within 10°F of the ambient air temperature. This is a guaranteed way to significantly reduce your unit’s run time.
With ThermalBlock™ coating compositions, you can easily expect rapid ROI within 12-36 months, but ROI within 9-18 months is not uncommon.
Dual approach, Maximum efficiency
We often recommend that clients use CoilSafe® coating compositions and ThermalBlock™ coating compositions in combination for ideal results, and maximum benefit to your business.
Applied together, they offer best possible efficiency of heat transfer at the coil, and ensure maximum corrosion prevention, all while reducing the cooling load imposed on the equipment by solar gain.
This is a one-time solution with no additional cost or maintenance cycle burdens.
Our innovative coating system ensures rapid ROI within 12-36 months, and delivers unparalleled value-add for HVAC systems. Plus, every treatment is a one-and-done solution, with no additional burdens of maintenance cycles or cost.
The dual approach delivers the following added benefits
- A reduction of 15% or greater in energy consumption
- Extended lifecycle due to corrosion prevention and load reduction
- Reduced failure rates due to reduced loads
